Inter Milan Raise Offer For Munich’s Goalkeeper
- Inter Milan Raise Offer For Bayern Munich Goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Inter Milan have raised their offer to Bayern Munich for goalkeeper Yann Sommer to around €5 million.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have edged up their bid for the 34-year-old Swiss international as they aim to get a deal done as soon as possible to replace Andre Onana between the posts.
Inter have been trying to finally get a move for Sommer over the line in recent days.
The Nerazzurri have been in talks with both the player and with Bayern for a few weeks now.
Sommer is the player who Inter want to sign to replace Andre Onana for the 2023-24 season. And the fact that the Cameroonian has now left to join Manchester United should be the trigger for a move for Sommer.
In addition, there is the fact that Inter captain Samir Handanovic has also left this summer.
That leaves the Nerazzurri without a single starting-quality goalkeeper in their squad ahead of their preseason tour of Japan, which departs today.
Inter Milan Bump Up Offer To Bayern Munich For Yann Sommer
Inter have the sense that it is only a matter of time before they wrap up a deal and sign Sommer.
However, the Nerazzurri are keen to make that be sooner rather than later.
Things have already stalled for long enough. Inter want to complete the deal so that they have their replacement for Onana for next season.
Sommer has a release clause in his contract with Bayern worth €6 million.
But Inter have been reluctant to pay this in full. The Nerazzurri have initially offered around €4 million to make a deal happen.
The Bavarians have rejected this bid. They also don’t want to sell Sommer before securing a replacement.
But Inter have now raised their offer. The Nerazzurri are aiming to take a step closer towards the conclusion to negotiations with their new bid of €5 million.
