The Sharks have very little chance of making the Champions Cup last four if you take a look at the betting latest odds.
Hollywoodbets have made the Sharks rank outsiders in the weekend’s quarter-finals.
While the Sharks beat Munster 50-35 to advance, they aren’t being given much hope in the betting market.
SHARKS TO BOW OUT?
The Sharks are 36/10 to shock the French outfit, who are 21/100 to progress.
Centre Lukhanyo Am says the Sharks will learn rom the Bulls’ mistakes, in preparation for quarter-final against Toulouse.
The Bulls ran out of steam at Le Stadium on Sunday as five-time Champions Cup winners Toulouse scored 21 unanswered points to advance thanks to a 33-9 win.
Antoine Dupont shone and will be one to watch again this weekend given the Sharks problems at scrumhalf.
The match kicks off at 16:00.
INJURIES PILING UP
A serious shoulder injury, picked up against Munster, will sideline Sharks and Springboks scrumhalf Jaden Hendrikse for at least 10 weeks.
Hendrikse was injured in the first-half of the Sharks’ Champions Cup playoff match against Munster at Kings Park on Saturday and had to make an early exit from the game.
Following confirmation of the extent of the injury, Hendrikse was forced to undergo corrective surgery and will be out of action for at least two and a half months.
This means Sharks boss Neil Powell will not only have to make do without his first-choice No 9 in their Champions Cup quarter-final against Toulouse in France on Saturday, but will probably be without Hendrikse’s services for the remainder of the URC and Champions campaigns.
Hendrikse, who has risen to second-choice scurmhalf in the Springboks’ pecking order behind only Faf de Klerk, now also face the very real possibility of missing South Africa’s Rugby Championship campaign. Though it is expected what he would make a full recovery before the World Cup, that too is not a given.
The Sharks and Springboks are also anxiously awaiting news on the extent f talisman Eben Etzebeth’s injury, which he suffered in the same match.
Etzebeth appeared to have picked up a knock in the first half, but played until the half-time break. He then failed to return to the field in the second half.
