Lionel Messi On Decision To Join Inter Miami
Multiple reports in Lionel Messi’s homeland claim that he has chosen to make a move to Major League Soccer this summer.
The 35-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain and had been closely linked to a sensational Barcelona return or move to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
But in Argentina, both Radio Continental 590 in Buenos Aires and Olé state that Messi has made a decision on his future and will join Inter Miami, while Gerard Romero has also claimed that a Blaugrana comeback is off the cards.
While the move is not 100% finalised as the World Cup winner still harbours faint ambitions of going back to the Camp Nou, MLS now appears to be the likeliest option.
With Barcelona facing difficulties in registering Messi, despite his father meeting with them last week, it means he has now warmed up further to a two-year offer (plus the option for another season) from the Florida side.
Both Argentine outlets also claim that the player wants a resolution to his future within the coming days, particularly with MLS’ season already underway and due to finish in October.
So set are Inter Miami on bringing Messi to the club, who are currently languishing bottom of the Eastern Conference, that they will also be willing to hand him a leadership role at the club and surround him with stars and friends, with Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba all being discussed internally.
