Real Madrid Set To Make £69m for Tottenham forward Harry Kane

Real Madrid are set to submit an opening offer of £69m for Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

Kane has emerged as Real Madrid’s first-choice option to replace Karim Benzema, following the latter’s decision to leave the club for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Real Madrid had expected Benzema to see out the final season of his contract with the club, but the lucrative proposal from the Middle East has seen an agreement reached for the Ballon d’Or winner to move on.

The Spanish side are now determined to bring in an elite replacement and are targeting Kane, whose future at Spurs is uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract.

Kane is open to an exit as he looks to win elusive silverware, following a disappointing season for Spurs saw the side finish eighth in the Premier League, the club’s lowest league finish in more than a decade.

Kane has failed to win a trophy in his career to date and the prospect of a move to Real Madrid would appeal given the club’s pedigree in competing for the game’s biggest prizes. Manchester United are also keen on a deal for Kane, but Sport are reporting that Real Madrid are ready to submit an opening proposal.

The club’s €80m (£69m) is set to fall significantly short of the valuation Spurs have placed on Kane, but Los Blancos are hopeful a compromise can be found between that offer and the initial asking price of around €120m (£103m).

Real Madrid are prepared to offer Kane – who scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season – a three-year deal that would place the England captain among their highest earners.
