Ansu Fati’s future at Barcelona has been a hot topic at Barcelona in recent weeks, following the player’s struggles in establishing himself as a first-team regular under Xavi Hernandez this season.
Fati has indeed fallen out of favour in the current first-team plans, with Xavi preferring the likes of Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski as his frontline options.
This has led to speculations over Fati’s future at Camp Nou. And according to Ben Jacobs, writing for the Caught Offside blog, three Premier League giants are already eyeing a move for the Barcelona ace in the coming summer.
The three clubs in question are Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool. Neither of these clubs have yet to contact Barcelona over the move, although they are in contact with his entourage.
And Jacobs suggests a club record offer would be enough to lure the forward away from Camp Nou.
This is because Barcelona are experiencing an economic crisis and have been asked to reduce their salary budget by a whopping €200 million.
Although the Blaugrana are seeking to alleviate some of the outlay by finding new sponsors, they might be forced to get rid of at least one top player, with Fati emerging as one of the candidates.
At the age of just 20, Fati is widely regarded as the future of the Barcelona team. But his popularity has taken a hit among the Barça fans despite him wearing the famous number ten shirt. And his performances on the pitch have not helped his cause either.
This has alerted the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, all of who are desperate for attacking reinforcements in the summer and could find Fati a desirable option due to his speed, quality and the potential he offers to the table.
However, Barcelona must go through some proper deliberation before sanctioning the sale of the 20-year-old, knowing he has the potential to become the face of the club in the coming years.
Xavi recently declared the young La Masia gem as non-transferable and is understood to be upset with the speculations surrounding his future. Fati himself is believed to be keen on succeeding at Barcelona.
But with the interest in him from the Premier League rising, it remains to be seen if the situation changes in the coming months.
