Man United Bid For Atalanta Striker Rasmus Højlund Rejected

  • Manchester United bid for the striker is rejected.

Manchester United have had a cash plus players offer for Rasmus Højlund rejected by Atalanta.

That is according to the Athletic, who state that the Serie A club are insisting on a cash-only deal.

The 20-year-old Danish striker has quickly become Erik ten Hag’s No.1 option after a deal for Harry Kane became unfeasible, but with FFP constraints on United’s budget, Atalanta’s current demands for £85m are deemed too steep, hence the desire to swap unnamed players.

The report also alludes to United’s current interest in Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana, but points out that there is still work to do on both a transfer fee and personal terms.

It is also stated that both Italian clubs are aware of the conjoined deals, and are not willing to concede cash at the expense of the other.

Other details in the report say that United retain an interest in Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat but it is predicated on sales.

Players that are alleged to be available include Donny Van de Beek, Fred, Scott McTominay and Anthony Elanga.
