Man United Injury Update: Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho Return Date And Latest
Manchester United have been rocked by a possible injury to Marcus Rashford as the race for a top-four finish heats up.
United have recorded back-to-back wins – against Brentford and Everton – to boost their chances of Champions League qualification, but in doing so have lost both Luke Shaw and Rashford to injury. The striker is suffered a groin injury and has undergone scans.
It’s not all bad news, though, as Christian Eriksen is back after almost three months out and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is back to match fitness.
Rashford limped out of United’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday after pointing to his groin and asking to be substituted.
He has already been ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla as the club await on the results of scans on the area.
Potential return date: Late April 2023
Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw was withdrawn during the first half of last week’s win over Brentford with an unknown injury, though was able to walk off the pitch and down the tunnel in a seemingly positive sign.
The left-back missed the win at Everton and is a doubt to face Sevilla. Ten Hag said: “Luke Shaw is not available and we have to see how it progresses in the coming week.”
Alejandro Garnacho
The youngster has been one of the most eye-catching stories of the season at United, but an ankle injury has curtailed his progress.
Ten Hag told reporters last month: “It will take weeks. He will be back before the end of the season. We can win a lot, so he has to be ready.”
Potential return date: April/May 2023
Tom Heaton
The goalkeeper has been sidelined for a number of weeks with an ankle injury.
Potential return date: May 2023
