PAUL INCE REMINDS FANS OF LIVERPOOL 31-YEAR-OLD PLAYER; ‘NO ONE HAS EVEN MENTIONED HIM’.

Paul Ince has reminded England fans that there is still Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson to pick from as a midfield starter because ‘no one has even mentioned him’, as he told Sky Sports Football.

The Old Trafford legend pointed out that Henderson is a Champions League and Premier League winner at Liverpool.

During England’s two friendly matches, Henderson started his side’s 2-1 win over Switzerland – playing the entire match – before he was on the bench for the 3-0 win over the Ivory Coast on Tuesday night, both at Wembley.

From the options Gareth Southgate can pick from, Henderson, 31, is certainly the most experienced.

But, at Euro 2020, it was Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips who were picked for the more defensive options, as this was the brief message Ince made of Henderson.

“We haven’t mentioned Jordan Henderson yet,” said Ince.

“He’s a Champions League winner. Premier League winner. No one has even mentioned him.”

Declan Rice is probably going to be a sure starter at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar because he has taken his game to another level this season.

There will be a more attack-minded option joining him in midfield, whether that’s a Phil Foden, Mason Mount or somebody else.

But alongside those two, is it Jude Bellingham who is selected? He was Man of the Match against the Ivory Coast yesterday. Or Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips? Who has been injured for the past few months?

Either way, Southgate has some big decisions to make and Henderson is going to be vital, both on and off the field for him leading up to Qatar and at the tournament itself.
