Real Madrid Will Be On The Lookout For Kylian Mbappe As He Refuses To Extend Till 2025

Real Madrid were left red-faced when Kylian Mbappe decided to snub them in favour of renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of last year.

The Merengues believed that they had the 24-year-old’s signing all sewn up only for him to make a complete U-turn and decide to extend his stay in the French capital.

However, Mbappe’s future is set to become a major topic of contention once again next year as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

PSG advertised that the Frenchman’s contract renewal was for three years until 2025. But there was an important detail in the new deal that he signed.

Mbappe penned an agreement for two years until 2024, with an option for extending until 2025. However, the caveat is that both parties should agree to trigger the extension.

And now, L’Equipe is reporting that the France forward is not looking forward to extending his deal by another year, which would mean that he could become a free agent in 2024.

Soon after Mbappe’s renewal, murmurs of unrest started to emerge and links to Real Madrid once again surfaced. And even though things seem to be under control, the PSG superstar is not entirely keen on staying at the club for much longer.

Mbappe has to decide on his extension until 2025 before July 31 2023 and as things stand, he has no intentions of doing so.

Real Madrid are alert to this development and could look to swoop in for the 24-year-old Mbappe if he becomes available for free next year.

The Spanish capital club need to replace captain Karim Benzema, whose contract expires in 2024. And Mbappe and Erling Haaland are the two top options that Los Blancos are looking at.

With the Frenchman refusing to extend his contract with PSG and the possibility of him becoming free next year very real now, a move to Real Madrid could be back on the agenda.
