Report: Barcelona To Play Real Madrid In Pre-Season El Clasico In Dallas On July 29
After having enjoyed great success financially on their pre-season tour to the US last season, Barcelona are set to return to the North American nation again this summer.
Indeed, as per reports, the Blaugrana will be travelling to the USA between July 19 and July 30 for their pre-season camp in their bid to ramp up preparations for the next season.
It has already been confirmed that much like last year, Barcelona will lock horns with arch-rivals Real Madrid in a pre-season El Clasico.
And now, according to AS, the date and venue for the pre-season Clasico seem to have been set.
As per the report, the pre-season friendly between Barcelona and Real Madrid will be played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas. And although an official confirmation is awaited, all signs point towards the match being played on July 29.
Last year, the two teams had locked horns at the Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, in front of 64,000 fans. Things could be at a much grander scale this time around though as the Cotton Bowl Stadium has a capacity of 92,101 spectators.
Barcelona had triumphed 1-0 against Real Madrid in the previous pre-season Clasico thanks to a goal from then-new arrival Raphinha.
Following that, the two teams have collided five times in the 2022/23 campaign, with the Blaugrana winning three of those meetings and Los Blancos coming out on top in two.
The recent rise in tensions between the two clubs could add more spark to the encounter that is said to be taking place in Dallas on July 29. An official confirmation is yet to arrive, however.
