Report: Three Reasons Why Jules Kounde Wants To Leave Barcelona
Jules Kounde has become a hot topic in the market lately, after yesterday’s reports that revealed how the defender is open to leaving Camp Nou at the end of the season.
Although Kounde’s agents have denied these rumours, there is a clear intention for the defender to leave the club in the coming summer, reports Diario SPORT.
The news publication has even pointed out three reasons why Kounde wants to leave Barcelona, suggesting that the defender is aware of the success Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen have had under Xavi Hernandez.
The two have indeed created a formidable defensive partnership that has helped Barcelona register the best defensive record in La Liga this season. Their success has also forced Kounde to operate in the right-back position.
The Frenchman has indeed played the majority of the matches as a right-back, which has not gone down well with the player. The youngster does not feel comfortable playing at right-back and wants to play at his preferred centre-back position.
But he feels there are no guarantees he can play in that position, owing to the success of Araujo and Christensen.
Kounde, therefore, is said to be open to a move away from Camp Nou, knowing that his market value has improved and that there are several Premier League sides who would be willing to sign him this summer.
Barcelona, for their part, are said to be open to the possibility of Kounde’s sale. His departure could help the club generate some much-needed revenue, which in turn, could be useful in helping them fund a move for a top-quality right-back this summer.
However, nothing has been fixed as of yet. And judging by Xavi’s comments on Kounde’s future, it appears neither party is considering a potential move away from Camp Nou, as of now.
