Report: Xavi Hernandez Will Talk To Exit-Linked Barcelona Stars About Their Futures This Week

With the La Liga title wrapped up, the focus at FC Barcelona now is to resolve the Financial Fair Play situation at the earliest possible so that business can go on in the summer transfer window without any hitches.

Player sales, to that end, will become key, with the Blaugrana in need of sealing at least one major departure before June 30.

Several stars have been linked with exits as a result, and according to SPORT, manager Xavi Hernandez will speak to those players who will not be a part of his plans for next season and inform them about the club’s decision to sell them this summer.

Barça have already sent in their feasibility plan to La Liga and will now need to execute it accurately in order to go ahead with their intended operations in the summer.

And it is now Xavi’s responsibility to inform those players that they will be put up for transfers, with the 43-year-old set to hold talks with them over this week.

As per the report, Barcelona have prioritised the sale of players who have not featured regularly under Xavi this season. The likes of Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Franck Kessie, and Jordi Alba will all be on the transfer list and offers will be entertained for the quartet.

Now, Xavi will talk with each player individually and make it clear that the Blaugrana are pushing them to leave because of the Financial Fair Play issues and no favours can be done at a time when sales are necessary to further strengthen the team.

Given that the aforementioned players are all reluctant to leave, it remains to be seen if Xavi’s talks with them have any impact or influence their decisions going forward.

What is clear is that Barcelona do not want to leave any player in the dark and want the out-of-favour stars to know what is their situation as the La Liga champions plan for a new cycle starting from next season.
