Robert Lewandowski Looking To End Concerning Run At Camp Nou Against Cadiz
Robert Lewandowski had an electric start to his Barcelona career. After signing from Bayern Munich last summer, the Pole had 18 goals in all competitions before the World Cup break (13 in La Liga, 5 in Champions League).
However, he has struggled since domestic football returned for Barcelona at the start of the year. He has five goals in nine appearances in 2023, which is poor by his very high standards.
A more concerning statistic for Lewandowski is that he has failed to score in his last six matches at the Camp Nou in all competitions, following another blank against Manchester United midweek. He has also failed to register an assist during that time too. His last goal at home came against Athletic Club back in October.
Xavi backed his star striker in his pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture against Cadiz on Sunday, and he will hope that Lewandowski can end his barren run against the Andalusian side.
Lewandowski is expected to start for Barcelona against Cadiz, and he will be desperate to get back on track in the second half of the season, as he looks help the Blaugrana secure a first league title in four years.
