Rúben Amorim ‘offered contract’ to become Liverpool next boss
- Rúben Amorim ‘offered contract’ to become next Liverpool manger.
Liverpool appear to have honed in on Rúben Amorim as their managerial successor to Jürgen Klopp.
Amorim has emerged as the prime candidate for the soon-to-be-vacant Anfield hotseat in recent weeks, with Xabi Alonso looking set to remain in charge of Bayer Leverkusen next season.
And a report from Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda on Monday suggests the Sporting CP coach has now been offered a three-year contract to take over from Klopp when the German steps down this summer.
If true, the 39-year-old former Portugal international looks set to embark on his first managerial assignment outside his homeland, having previously coached Casa Pia and Braga prior to taking charge of Sporting in 2020.
Amorim’s trophy haul currently stands at one Portuguese Primeira Liga title in 2020/21, and three Taças da Liga (one with Braga, two with Sporting).
His side are currently four points clear of rivals Benfica at the top of the table
