There are an abundance of world-class managers who are currently out of work and are weighing up their next move before throwing their hats back into the ring.
With clubs more determined than ever to see instant results, the turnover in managers has never been as high as it is right now.
Some of these managers have been out of work for quite some time and will surely be itching to get back in as soon as possible. We’ve picked out 10 of the best managers who are currently available for work right now. We’ve added speculation about where we could possibly see each of them.
Zinedine Zidane
It had been speculated that Zidane has been waiting for the France job, although with Didier Deschamps now set to continue with the national team he might consider going back into club management.
The legendary Frenchman has been out of work since his last stint with Real Madrid in 2021. He won a total of 11 trophies throughout his two managerial spells with Madrid, including three Champions League titles.

Luis Enrique
Enrique’s Twitch streams were plenty of fun during the World Cup, but he now finds himself out of work after stepping down as Spain’s manager.
Despite Spain’s disappointing round of 16 exit, Enrique is still well-regarded in the footballing world and he would surely still walk in to a top end job at club level.

Thomas Tuchel
The German manager was the first victim of Todd Boehly at Chelsea. His crowning moment was the 2020-21 Champions League triumph against Manchester City and he’ll surely be back in the game soon.

Mauricio Pochettino
The Argentine manager has bided his time since leaving PSG in the summer of 2022. While his time in France was by no means spectacular, he did win three domestic trophies, including the Ligue 1 title.
Pochettino’s PSG side ultimately unravelled in the Champions League, although the same can be said about practically all of his predecessors.

Marcelo Gallardo
Gallardo is widely regarded as the next big thing from outside Europe. The former midfielder recently left River Plate after eight years in charge – a lifetime in the chop-and-change world of Argentinian club football. He won no fewer than 14 trophies while in charge, including two Copa Libertadores.
“What Gallardo has done with River is incredible,” Pep Guardiola said back in 2020.
“Every year three coaches are named as the best in the world, and he’s never among them. I can’t understand it. It’s as if there’s nothing else in the world apart from Europe.”
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta is said to be keen on the three-time South American Coach of the Year. But it’s said that Gallardo is happy to keep waiting and wants a summer job that promises a full-pre-season. You imagine he’ll have his pick of clubs that can offer European competition soon enough.

Rafael Benitez
His spell at Everton went about as well as you would have expected, but Benitez could still land in a top job given his excellent managerial CV.
“We knew it wouldn’t be easy,” Benitez said following his departure. “It was a big challenge, both emotionally and in terms of sport. My love for this city, for Merseyside and its people, made me accept this challenge, but it is only when you are inside that you realise the magnitude of the task.”

Joachim Low
The German manager hasn’t worked in club football since 2003–04 when he was the manager of Austria Wien. His 15-year stint as the Germany manager peaked in 2014 with their World Cup triumph.
Low told German outlet Kicker: “I already have the intention of taking on a task in football again. The fun in this sport is too much for that.
“I feel motivated again when I watch football now – that wasn’t the case for a few months. If I feel a task appeals to me, I’m ready and attack again.”

Steven Gerrard
In managerial terms, Gerrard is still very much a young buck at just 42 years old and he will have learnt a great deal from his time at Villa Park.
His greatest achievement remains to be his 102-point season with Rangers and he will now be keeping a keen eye on any managerial vacancies that pop up.

Frank Lampard
Lampard did well to keep Everton up during the 2021-22 season, but there’s no denying that he lost his way during the following season. Having managed three clubs during his five-year managerial career so far, his next move will be interesting.

Tite
Tite has taken charge of 14 different sides throughout his managerial career which has spanned over 30 years so far. He was most recently the Brazil manager, but left his post following their World Cup exit.
He’s still got the moves to be fair.

Marcelo Bielsa
His time at Leeds might have ended in a slump, but Bielsa was absolutely box-office in the Premier League and we would love to see him back at some point.
The legendary Argentine manager has been out of work for the past year and was recently linked with the Everton job until they instead landed on Sean Dyche.
