Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of Manchester United’s Casemiro and would love to bring the Brazilian captain to Bavaria this summer.
That is according to German outlet Kicker, who claim the ex-Chelsea manager is looking to add a defensive midfielder, as well as more experience and winners, to his ranks this summer. Casemiro obviously fits the bill but any deal seems hugely unlikely given his importance to Erik ten Hag’s side since arriving from Real Madrid last summer.
Added to this, the 31-year-old cost a reported £70 million pounds and United would be looking for at least an equal return on that investment in the very unlikely event they were open to selling. Casemiro also seems very settled in Manchester and up for the challenge of restoring the Red Devils to their former glory.
The report also states that Joshua Kimmich is viewed as more of an “8” internally at Bayern and more of a “cleaner” is required to play alongside him and Leon Goretzka.
It is sure to be an interesting summer at Bayern as Tuchel looks to put his imprint on the side in his first transfer window and get the club back in a position to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
However, it appears the only chance of Casemiro lining up at the Allianz Arena next season is in the red of United in a Champions League clash between the two famous clubs.
