Bayern Munich goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic could return under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tapalovic was sacked at the beginning of the year and replaced by Michael Rechner, who had a better relationship with then-manager Julian Nagelsmann.
However, new coach Tuchel knows Tapalovic well and it opens up the possibility of a return. Bayern will continue with Rechner and have two goalkeeping coaches.
Bayern will have four senior goalkeepers in the summer when Manuel Neuer returns from his broken leg and Alexander Nübel returns from his loan from AS Monaco on top of Yann Sommer who signed in January as well as Sven Ulreich who has been Neuer’s understudy for the past two seasons.
The potential return of Tapalovic further places Nübel’s future at Bayern in doubt. The 26-year-old has been openly critical of the lack of support he received from Tapalovic while on loan at the principality. If Tapalovic does return it could mean Nübel will be sold in the summer.
