Barcelona Plan On Renaming Old La Masia Building To Pay Tribute To Messi

In a massive revelation made by Diario AS, it has been revealed that Barcelona are in talks with Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica about converting their old La Masia headquarter into a Messi-themed museum.

Journalist Joaquin Maroto writes that Barcelona plan use their La Masia youth academy as their latest financial lever. This is done in order to bring Lionel Messi back at Camp Nou as given the current state of finances, the team just cannot sign new players for the 2023-24 season.

The ‘Messi Museum’ is going to be an interactive tourist attraction ‘which would be a world leader in its use of cutting-edge technology, dedicated to the Argentina captain,’ writes Maroto.

Barcelona expect this museum to attract tourists and fans from all around the world and the money coming in from the move would be used to bring the Argentina captain back at Spotify Camp Nou.

In our latest report, we confirmed that the operation to bring Messi back is moving very fast. And in order to turn this into a reality, the management is working day and night in order to find a way to comply with the Financial FairPlay and La Liga’s salary limit.

Several media reports claim that club president Joan Laporta recently met with Messi’s father Jorge in the Catalan capital and even Xavi has been in touch with the footballer to convince him to return.

Now, if Barcelona are to sign Messi, they need to slash their wage bill and also need to generate excessive income. For that matter, La Liga president Javier Tebas has informed Laporta that he will help the team in every way possible as long as the club is complying with the law.

In all fairness, La Liga needs Lionel Messi as much as Barça do. This is because since his departure, the value of the league’s television rights has stagnated as compared to other top leagues.
