UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: PORTUGAL STAR CHRISTIANO RONALDO’S INCREASES THE UNDEFEATED RUN AHEAD OF CZECH REPUBLIC BATTLE
Portugal and the Czech Republic are scheduled to lock horns on Thursday night at the Estádio José Alvalade
Portugal and the Czech Republic will be keen to continue their fine run of form in the UEFA Nations League when they lock horns on Thursday night, June 9, at the Estádio José Alvalade.
The match comes at a time both countries are unbeaten in the continental tournament, winning once and drawing once in two of their opening fixtures.
Portugal kicked off the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Spain before putting four past Switzerland in their second Group B match.
On their part, the Czech Republic silenced Switzerland 2-1 in their opener and settled for a 2-2 epic draw against Spain.
Match Preview
Portugal and the Czech Republic have competitively met on three occasions, with the Selecao winning twice.
However, they know too well that a win for either side on Thursday night will be enough to see them pull away at the halfway mark of the group stages.
And with Spain in the fray, both teams will be desperate to secure a favourable result.
Portugal were the inaugural winners of the competition three years ago and will go into the encounter as the favourites.
However, the Czech Republic will be no pushovers after managing to make a good account of themselves so far in the competition.
