Alex Faedo parents, Landy Faedo and Kristie Donovan are the people that raised the Detroit Tigers player. 

Baseball player Alex Faedo (full name: Alex Michael Faedo) is a Major League Baseball (MLB) star who is currently playing for the Detroit Tigers.

The 27 year old started his career at high school and went on to the league in the 2014 Draft.

He has also played for the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the High A Florida State.

Alex was also very talented and skillful since his college days and has also been awarded the College World Series Most Outstanding Player in 2015.

The MLB star was born in Tampa, Florida, to Landy Faedo and Kristie Donovan.

Reportedly, Faedo is only a single child and has no siblings.

Landy, his father, is also a long-time baseball coach in the Tampa Bay area. However, regarding his mother, Kristie, there is not much information.

Alex might also have been inspired and pushed by his father to pursue a career in baseball.

Kristie and Landy have also been very polite and caring toward the athlete.

Moreover, talking about his family, the 27 year old is also the nephew of former Minnesota Twins shortstop Lenny Faedo.

Lenny also won the Tony Saladino Award in 1978. The Tigers pitcher might also have been inspired by his uncle.

Alex Faedo Surgery

In the 2020 season, Faedo was a part of the Tiger’s 40-man roster. However, on December 19, 2020; he had to undergo Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow.

Tommy John surgery is a surgery where the ulnar collateral ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with tendons from their owner’s body or from a donor (deceased).

This can be a huge game-changer for a baseball player. Faedo, having gone through surgery, missed one season in 2021 and made his comeback in 2022.

After posting a 2.53 ERA in three appearances for the Tigers, he was sent to the Toledo Mud Hens to find his form.

Moreover, after another disappointing spell at Toledo, starting just one game. He was called back to the Tigers on May 4, 2022.

Faedo started and pitched five innings in a match against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but the team was not yet impressed.

Following another dismal appearance on his second start, he was returned to Toledo.

Later, after Michael Pineda was injured, he was back with the Tigers on May 16, 2020. Sadly, Faedo has been optioned to Triple-A Toledo to begin the 2023 season of the MLB.
