Andreas Christensen Wary Of The Danger Posed By Man United Forward: “IN GREAT FORM”

Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen has admitted that he is enjoying his life at Barcelona, saying that although it’s been just seven months since his arrival, his tenure has been ‘great’.

Speaking to the club’s official media channels ahead of Barcelona’s home game against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League playoffs, the Danish defender spoke at length about his new life and how the team is looking forward to the games to come.

“I got here seven months ago, and I think it’s been great,” said the centre-half.

Adding further, the 26-year-old said, “I think we are on the right track. We want to win another title this season.”

The former Chelsea man was referring to Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana final at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh in January this year. This was Barcelona’s first title under Xavi’s reign.

Interestingly enough, the Blaugrana are well on course to win their first La Liga title since 2019 as well. As of today, the team lead second-placed Real Madrid by 11 points, although it must be noted that they have played a game more than their rivals.

Meanwhile, Christensen also shed light on the threat that a certain Marcus Rashford of Manchester United would pose during Barcelona’s UEFA Europa League fixture later this week.

The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form since the 2022 FIFA World Cup to an extent that he has been involved in seven goals in his last seven outings (G5, A2) across all competitions.

“He is in great form at the moment. I like him a lot, I love the way he plays. He is a direct, dangerous, and powerful player,” Christensen said.

Riding on his red-hot form, Manchester United have lost just one game since the turn of the year. In fact, the Red Devils have scored at least two goals in each of their last seven games.

Speaking about the Premier League side, Christensen said that given the strength of the team, it is indeed going to be a tough game.

“They have great quality and the way they play is good. I think Ten Hag will take them to a different level. It will be a tough game, but I think we are in a great moment. Will be a great match,” he added.

Barcelona’s first-leg playoff match against Manchester United is scheduled for Thursday, February 16 at Camp Nou. And the Blaugrana will have to make do without two key stars in Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Busquets for the game.
