Arsenal Boss Refuses To Rule Bukayo Saka Out On Sunday

  • Bukayo Saka ‘In Contenttion’ To Face Man City On Sunday.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has refused to rule Bukayo Saka out of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.

The England winger was substituted in the first half of Arsenal’s Champions League defeat to Lens in midweek with what appeared to be a muscle issue.

However, he is not yet ruled out of this weekend’s game between last season’s top two.

“He’s in contention. Let’s see how he progresses from here to Sunday,” Arteta said on Friday. “He had to leave the pitch and that’s never good news, let’s see how he recovers.”

Pressed for more information on the injury, the Arsenal boss smiled but gave nothing away.

“In contention, that’s it! I’m not a doctor, that’s what they’ve told me!”

Saka has already recorded five goals and four assists across nine Premier League and Champions League games this season and also scored from the penalty spot when Arsenal last hosted City back in February.
