The Ghana international is expected to join the newcomers ahead of next season as he seeks regular game time

Ghanaian teen sensation, Felix Afena-Gyan is on the verge of joining newly-promoted Italian Serie A side Lecce.

The 19-year-old is expected to join Lecce on loan from AS Roma as he continues his development in the Italian topflight.

According to GHANASoccernet, the player’s representatives are in talks with the returnees with a deal set to be agreed on in the coming days.

Italian club Lecce have expressed interest in Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan.

Felix Afena-Gyan had a breakthrough campaign in the just ended season, where he scored two goals in 17 league appearances for the Rome-based club.

The Black Stars forward also won the Europa Conference League title with AS Roma, but was largely unused in the competition.

Meanwhile, transfer market expert Nico Schira disclosed talks between AS Roma and Lecce is at advanced stages.

Afena-Gyan scored his first goal for Ghana’s national team in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Felix Afena Gyan has netted his first international goal for Ghana as they lead Madagascar 2-0 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game on Wednesday.
