Barca Woderkid Lamine Yamal Has Recovered From Illness Ahead Of Next Game

  • Barcelona Wonderkid Has Recovered From His Illness Ahead Of Granada Clash.

Even as Barcelona deal with the injury-enforced absences of key players like Raphinha, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Robert Lewandowski, they have welcomed some good news on the fitness front.

Earlier today, it was reported that Ronald Araujo has not picked up any injury during the Porto clash even though he was spotted limping after the game.

The Uruguayan is fit and ready for the upcoming La Liga clash against Granada, although there is a chance that he could be rested.

Now, there is more good news related to Lamine Yamal.

Yamal has recovered from his illness

Indeed, according to journalist Adria Albets, Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has recovered from the illness he was suffering from earlier this week and could be ready to face Granada at the weekend.

The 16-year-old had a stomach problem during the game against Porto on Wednesday night and went off the pitch around the 71st minute or so.

While it was expected that the teenage sensation would return to the pitch at some point, it was not the case and after ten minutes with ten men on the field, Barcelona sent on Marcos Alonso as a substitute in place of Yamal.

Speaking of Yamal’s situation after the game, Xavi had said: “Lamine Yamal has an illness, he had been telling me for a while. I took advantage of a break to tell him to be quick and go to the toilet, but in the end, he told me that he wouldn’t be able to get back to the pitch.”

Now, though, Yamal is understood to have fully recovered from his illness and will be able to train normally with the team tomorrow before they travel to face Granada on Sunday night.

Yamal likely to start vs Granada

Yamal’s recovery is positive news for Xavi and Barcelona as they are already running out of options in attack with the injuries to Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Ferran Torres is likely to start as the centre-forward against Granada this weekend while Joao Felix should keep his place on the left flank.

And with Yamal recovering from his illness, the 16-year-old should, in all likelihood, start on the right flank again in Raphinha’s absence.
