Barcelona To Wear A Special Shirt Against Mallorca To Say Goodbye To Spotify Camp Nou

In less than a week, Barcelona will be playing their final home game of the 2022/23 season when they lock horns with RCD Mallorca.

It will also be the final match that will be played at Spotify Camp Nou as the stadium is set to undergo major renovations as part of the Espai Barça project.

Given the importance of the ground and the stadium in the history of the club, Barcelona wish to bid a special goodbye to their home turf as they move base to the Montjuic Olympic Stadium for next season.

To that end, SPORT is reporting that Barcelona will wear special shirts for the game against Mallorca to say goodbye to Spotify Camp Nou.

The stadium has been home to Barça since its inauguration way back in 1957. To commemorate that, the newly-crowned La Liga champions have chosen a very apt motto that will be printed on the special shirts for the game against Mallorca.

“Full of history. Full of future.”

Barcelona have also asked every fan to show up in the club’s traditional garnet and blue colours for the match on Sunday evening.

The La Liga champions will bid goodbye to Spotify Camp Nou after that game and play their home matches at the Montjuic Stadium next season.

The plan is to complete the construction of the new stadium by late 2024 and return home in time to celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary, hopefully with Lionel Messi back in the team.

The match against Mallorca will also be the last home game that current captain Sergio Busquets will play, having decided to leave Barcelona when his contract expires on June 30.

So, one can expect a special evening at Spotify Camp Nou with grand celebrations on Sunday.
