Bayern Munich In Talks With Jamal Musiala And Alphonso Davies Over Contract Extension

Bayern Munich have opened talks with Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies over new contracts, reports Manuel Veth.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have contacted the pair’s representatives, with Bayern considering them vital for the future.

Musiala and Davies have made an outstanding impact at such a tender age while growing into undisputable starters for the Bavarians.

Davies has been part of Bayern’s first team for around four years, playing a key role in the historic sextuple in 2019/20, followed by back-to-back Bundesliga titles.

Similarly, Musiala’s quick rise to prominence has been simply astonishing, with the German youngster finishing third in the last year’s Kopa trophy as well as bagging Germany’s Player of the Year award.

The 20-year-old has been the most productive player for Bavarians in an otherwise turbulent campaign this season, racking up 11 goals and 11 assists.

Musiala’s current deal expires in 2026, and Bayern executives have been planning for months to hand him a new contract on improved terms.

On the other hand, Davies, who is currently sidelined with injury, has courted interest from European giants like Manchester City and Real Madrid.

However, the German champions have no intentions to sell the Canadian full-back and want to tie him to a new deal sooner.

Bayern are also working on the renewals of Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane.

A summer overhaul appears to be on the cards following a tumultuous season.

New manager Thomas Tuchel, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann, is off to the worst possible start, exiting DFB Cup and Champions League while also slipping to second place behind Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga.
