Bayern Munich Show Interest In Chelsea Midfielder Mason Mount

As reported by Jacob Steinberg, Bayern Munich have stepped up their interest in Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Bayern Munich will aim to capitalise on Manchester United’s failed attempt to agree on a fee with Chelsea for midfielder Mount. United have had three bids turned down by Chelsea, as the London-based club value Mount at £65m.

However, there is a possibility that Chelsea could accept a lower fee from a non-English rival with Thomas Tuchel being an admirer of Mount’s talent.

Tuchel will be a significant factor in this potential transfer as the Bayern head coach previously worked with Mount during his time at Chelsea where he guided the side to a Champions League title.

The 24-year-old experienced a difficult campaign last year featuring 35 times in all competitions for Chelsea scoring three goals while collecting six assists.

However, Mount had been named as Chelsea’s player of the season in 2020/21 and 2021/22 when the side would win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Bayern have already stumbled in their attempts to sign a midfielder this summer with Declan Rice preferring a move to Premier League runners-up Arsenal.

However, Mount could be used further up the pitch for Die Rekordmeister and add quality to a side that underwhelmed in all competitions last season.
