BECAUSE OF ROMA FC vs FEYENOORD: 60 FANS WERE ARRESTED BY POLICE IN TIRANA

The fans have camped in Tirana, Albania ahead of the Europa Conference League final, although a large chunk of them do not have tickets for the match

There was drama in Albania recently as police reportedly clashed with both Feyenoord and AS Roma fans ahead of the Europa Conference League final.

Jose Mourinho’s side will take on the Dutch giants at the Arena Kombëtare in the first ever final of the third-tier European competition.

But ahead of the game, it was discovered that many fans travelled to Tirana without tickets for the game

As many as 50,000 fans travelled to Albania in hopes of catching the final, but the Arena Kombëtare can only host 21,690 supporters.

On Tuesday evening, the two sets of fans clashed in the streets, forcing police to intervene.

As per reports from Corrirere dello Sport, 60 people were arrested from the mayhem, with upto 48 of those fans being from Itali

It all started when a man who had been beaten, started shouting ‘Roma, Roma.’ Despite our attempts to calm things down, a scuffle between Albanian and Dutch fans began and the first one had the worst.” The man, who owns a joint known as the Dorgen Bar said.

Three more incidents involving Roma fans were confirmed last evening, and at least 15 Giallorossi supporters were apprehended.

Roma boss Jose Mourinho knew the support for his club would be massive and had earlier hinted that his team’s fans would have been able to fill a stadium as big as the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid
