Chelsea Are Interested In Signing Inter Milan Goalkeeper Andre Onana

Chelsea are keen on a deal to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan as the club look to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

The west Londoners want to sign a new number one at the end of the season and have shortlisted Onana as a potential addition, following the Cameroon international’s performances during an impressive debut season in Italy.

Onana signed for Inter on a free transfer from Ajax last summer and has shone during the Italian side’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, leading the competition for clean sheets with six.

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Chelsea are keen on a deal to sign the 27-year-old, who is valued at €40m (£35.4m) at the San Siro. The report states that Chelsea could look to include Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of the deal to sign Onana, with the Spain international set for an exit this summer.

Chelsea’s heavy spending across the past two transfer window means the Blues will look to reduce costs this summer with sales and potential exchanges.

Arrizabalaga could be offered to Inter in part-exchange, having struggled to convince consistently since becoming the world’s most expensive goalkeeper with a £72m move to Stamford Bridge in 2018.

Chelsea are also understood to be considering Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel as an alternative to Onana.
