CHELSEA NEWS: THOMAS TUCHEL HAS GIVEN ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI TRANSFER BACKUP PLAN

Chelsea are understood to be interested in signing Robert Lewandowski but the Bayern Munich striker is reportedly keen on a move to Barcelona

Ben Chilwell appears to have taken a further step up in his recovery after being pictured coming out to training with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. He has been absent from the first team set-up since suffering his ACL injury against Juventus, with the decision made to operate made in January and a rehabilitation process being followed ever since.

The 25-year-old featured in under-18 training last week and now appears to have moved one step further, having been present at Wembley at the weekend to watch the FA Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag reportedly looks set to raid Chelsea ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The newly-appointed Manchester United boss, who has already been linked with a move for N’Golo Kante, has been told to sign Hakim Ziyech this summer.

Erik ten Hag reportedly looks set to raid Chelsea ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The newly-appointed Manchester United boss, who has already been linked with a move for N’Golo Kante, has been told to sign Hakim Ziyech this summer.

The 29-year-old swapped the Johan Cruyff Arena for Stamford Bridge in 2019, leaving Ten Hag’s famous Ajax side which enjoyed an awe-inspiring 2018/19 Champions League run. Speaking on Ziggo Sport’s show ‘Rondo’ on Monday evening which featured Ten Hag as a guest, Van Basten suggested that United sign Ziyech in the upcoming transfer window.

“What comes to my mind now is that I think Ziyech, who already plays in England, could be a very good footballer at Manchester United for Erik,” Van Basten said.

Tuchel Told To Sign Lewandowski Alternative

Bayern Munich’s all-time second-highest goalscorer Lewandowski is an option being eyed by the west Londoners according to The Guardian, though it is understood that Barcelona is the favoured destination at this current moment. Therefore, other options will need to be considered and Lautaro Martinez has been touted.

“Chelsea will not win the league until they find a proper finisher. The attacking players they have now are top talents in many ways, but they lack a clinical goalscorer,” Tony Cascarino said in The Times.
