Crystal Palace Considering Graham Potter For Next Season

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter is on Crystal Palace’s radar as they look for a new bos ahead of next season, according to talkSPORT.

It’s been a relatively tough season for Palace. They began the campaign with Patrick Vieira in charge and initially made a reasonably positive start.

However, a run of 12 games without a win left the Eagles just three points above the relegation zone, and the Frenchman was dismissed.

Former boss Roy Hodgson came out of retirement and returned to Selhurst Park on a short-term contract.

His arrival has sparked an upturn in form, picking up 16 points from eight games and climbing comfortably clear of relegation danger.

The 75-year-old is reportedly open to extending his stay in south London. If he leaves, the club could turn to Potter for the managerial vacancy.

Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April. During his seven months at the Blues, his side picked up just 28 points from 22 games while making early exits from both domestic cups.

However, his record in management away from Chelsea is encouraging. Across his spells at Ostersund, Swansea City and Brighton & Hove Albion, the Englishman developed a reputation as one of the game’s finest up-and-coming managers, taking his teams forward while playing an attractive style of football.

Any potential move to Palace could be hindered by his connection to Brighton. He spent three years at the Seagulls, and moving to their direct rivals would likely be negatively received by their fans.

The Eagles travel to Fulham this weekend before ending the campaign with a home fixture against relegation battlers Nottingham Forest.
