Erik Ten Hag Embraces Alex Telles Ahead Of Europa League Clash

Manchester United are preparing to square off against Sevilla in Thursday night’s Europa League quarter-finals.

Following a disappointing 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford last week, tonight’s clash at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is finely poised.

And if the Premier League outfit are to get the better of Sevilla, who have won the competition six-time in the past, and book their place in what would be their third semi-final of the season, Erik Ten Hag will know his side must be at their absolute best.

A recent injury crisis, most notably to centre-back duo Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez has heaped the pressure on United to get a result away against Sevilla, and although Marcus Rashford has returned from his knock, the in-form English is only fit enough to make the bench.

Elsewhere, another player who has attracted a lot of interest in the build-up to tonight’s game has been left-back Alex Telles.

Although officially on United’s books, Telles has spent this season on loan with tonight’s Spanish opponents, and although the 30-year-old will not start, the Brazilian could feature from Los Nervionenses’ substitutes bench.

And making the effort to greet his on-loan full-back, Ten Hag was spotted embracing Sevilla’s number three ahead of kick-off. Midfielder and compatriot Fred also stopped by to say hello to last season’s teammate.
