Graham Potter On Whether Kai Havertz Is To Blame For Lack Of Chelsea Goals
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been speaking on one of the teams biggest problems right now, which is the sheer lack of goals being scored.
Their goalscoring record since early November is terrible, and it’s actually the worst in the top four leagues in England.
They only managed one goal against Leeds United at the weekend, despite getting the all important three points.
Potter has been asked whether striker Kai Havertz is to blame for a lack of goals, and he once again refuses to throw his players under the bus, preferring to take some blame himself.
As cited by The Evening Standard, Potter said: “I think we have to attack better as a team and that’s my responsibility. It’s too easy to zoom into individuals and blame them.
“It’s a collective, we have to create more, do better and that starts with me, helping the team get better chances more chances because then I don’t doubt the quality of the players.”
I do agree with everything he has said above. But also, Havertz IS the striker being picked every game, and it is a strikers job to score goals. But like Potter says, they do collectively need to be better as well.
