Liverpool Join Barcelona And PSG In Race For Eintracht Frankfurt Defender

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

The Reds look in need of reinforcements after enduring a disappointing 2022-23 season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are expected to rebuild their midfield this summer and have already been linked with the likes of Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham.

However, they may also look to make additions in defence to help them compete with Manchester City and Arsenal next season.

The Merseyside giants have reportedly found a perfect option in Evan Ndicka who ticks all the boxes for them.

The Auxerre academy graduate is only 23-years-old and mainly plays as a centre-back, though he can operate as a left-back and a holding midfielder as well.

His current contract at Frankfurt is set to run out in the summer and he has reportedly turned down a final offer from his German employers.

This means Liverpool will be able to sign the defender on a free transfer, thus making him a highly attractive option for them.

However, the Reds face competition for the 23-year-old with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan all keen as well (as per Mundo Deportivo).

Ndicka has been on the books of Frankfurt since 2018 and so far has made over 170 senior appearances at the Deutsche Bank Park.

The Frenchman was a key member of the Eagles’ team that won the Europa League last season, starting in 10 matches including the final against Rangers.

The talented centre-back has also made a strong start to the 2022-23 season, making 35 appearances across all competitions.

Ndicka looks to have all the attributes to shine in the Premier League but with so many options for him, it is less certain he will choose England.
