Liverpool Vs Real Madrid: Fans Set Off Fireworks Outside Los Blancos Hotel

Liverpool will fight it out against Real Madrid on Tuesday night in the first leg of their bumper Champions League knockout clash.

The two clubs who did battle in the final of the competition in Paris just nine months ago, will this time meet at the round of 16 stage.

Neither team can claim to be flying quite as high as they were last year, with Liverpool languishing in eighth place in the Premier League and Real Madrid a few points off the pace in La Liga.

Nevertheless, when these two titans of the game meet fireworks are an absolute certainty

And apparently not just on the pitch, either. Footage has emerged overnight of an enormous firework display taking place at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock, just next to where the Los Blancos team happen to be staying.

The incident occurred at 2am directly outside the entrance to the building of the team’s hotel and lasted more than 30 seconds.

Coincidence? Of course not. It appears some Reds fans are trying to make sure Jurgen Klopp’s side has every possible edge going into the encounter, and have decided to use tactics which aren’t entirely unusual ahead of a big game.

With Liverpool’s chances of reaching the top four – and therefore qualifying for the 2023/24 Champions League – very much hanging in the balance, winning the competition this year would be an enormous victory for the club.

So, whilst their season hasn’t gone to plan to date, Klopp will be hoping the momentum his team has built up in recent weeks can help carry them to victory against Europe’s most successful institution – and who knows, that might just be the catalyst the club needs to get them really clicked into gear as we approach the business end of the campaign.
