Manchester United Consider Loan Move For Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United since 2022 but his contract doesn’t expire until 2025.

A lot of fans are eager to find out what Manchester United intend to do with Mason Greenwood after Greater Manchester Police announced on February 2 that he no longer faces criminal proceedings.

The 21-year-old had been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.

On top of that, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood, which led to United launching their own internal investigation into the matter.

There has been no clarity shared publicly on Greenwood’s situation for almost five months but it’s important to note that having charges dropped does not make somebody innocent of a crime.

According to the Manchester Evening News, club sources insist they are focused on settling on an outcome before next season begins.

The report states that United are leaning towards loaning Greenwood with Erik ten Hag against selling the forward.

Where could Greenwood go on loan?

While there has been reports about interest from a number of Serie A clubs, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Greenwood moving to Turkey on a season-long loan.

But is this a matter of United sending him away for a year to quench the uproar his return will bring? That’s certainly how it feels because it wasn’t long ago that Ten Hag was complaining about the lack of striker options he has in the squad.
