Marcus Rashford Wins Europa League POTW Award After Barcelona Display

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been recognised for his incredible performance against Barcelona last night in the Europa League.

Rashford scored at the Camp Nou before putting Manchester United 2-1 ahead when he forced Jules Kounde to send the ball into the back of his own net.

Much of the pre-match build in Spain focused on Erik ten Hag as well as his rejuvenated star player.

Barcelona manager Xavi even said he believed Rashford was among the best attackers in Europe, which was ironic given he was previewing a match to be played in Europe’s second rate competition.

The Spanish media were right to warn Barcelona about Rashford. The in-form Manchester United forward had them on a plate. If he performs like that again next week, Barca won’t fancy their chances against the Reds.

According to the official Europa League Twitter account (@EuropaLeague), Rashford has been awarded for his performance with the UEL Player of the Week accolade.

Barcelona’s defenders learned last night why the Premier League defenders are standing no chance against Rashford at the moment. They won’t be looking forward to the second leg at Old Trafford.
