  • Vaai Taumalolo is a professional rugby league footballer who captains and plays as a lock forward for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL). He has played for Tonga and New Zealand at international level.

Jason Taumalolo wife, Liana LaRiva, has been with the lock forward since his early days of success. The couple tied the knot in 2016 and are yet to have kids.

Earlier this year, Cowboys chief executive Jeff Reibel gave Jason the green light to launch his boxing career. The lock forward is interested in testing himself in the ring during the NRL Fight Night.

The NRL Fight Night will take place once the season ends, and it’s been rumored that Taumalolo will take on Roosters hooker Victor Radley.

Jason Taumalolo’s wife, Liana LaRiva, has been mostly seen with her husband during award ceremonies.

Last year, the couple walked the red carpet of the Dally M Awards hand in hand, with Liana choosing to wear a simple yet beautiful feathered gown. The lock forward previously won the medal in 2016, and even then, Liana was present to watch her man be besotted with the honor.

The rugby couple has tried to keep itself away from the public limelight. On his Instagram handle, Jason has only shared a single picture of his better half.

Taumalolo shared a snap of his outing with Liana to Jasper National Park. He shared a picture of him and Liana with a beautiful scenic background of snowy mountains behind them. Liana is available on Instagram but has chosen to keep her handle private.

The couple tied the knot in 2016 and celebrated their first anniversary in their first dream home at Brookstone on the Park in Condon. It is also the location from where they gave an interview to realestate.com.au.

When asked why they had chosen Brookstone on the Park as their dream location, the couple replied that it was easier for them to commute for work. It would take Jason and Liana only five minutes to reach their workplace.

The married couple doesn’t have kids but has a pet dog named Puma, seen as a display picture on Jason’s Instagram handle. Recently, Puma stepped out with his dad to celebrate his 250th NRL game.

Jason Taumalolo Parents, Vaai, And Tominika Taumalolo

Jason Taumalolo’s parents Vaai, and Tominika Taumalolo, raised their three kids in Auckland, New Zealand, before settling in Townsville.

In an interview from 2015, Jason talked about the sacrifices made by his parents. They uprooted their lives in Auckland to follow their son to Townsville.

The Cowboys player left Auckland when he was 14 and lived with former Cowboy player Wayne Ulugia’s family. At first, Vaai and Tominika were against sending their son to Townsville but later let their son chase his rugby dreams.

Just like how the Ulugia family allowed Jason to live with them, the Taumalolo family let Jason’s former teammate John Asiata stay with them.

In an interview, John said he was grateful to Jason and his family. They let him grow up with them when he first moved to Townsville in 2014.

Jason’s sister has stayed away from the limelight but has been on her father’s Facebook profile. His brother, Warner Taumalolo, currently lives in Sunshine Coast, Queensland. He tied the knot with his longtime partner Beck Chaseling earlier this year in March.
