- Newcastle sign Leicester winger Harvey Barnes for £39M deal.
Newcastle have confirmed the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.
While the fee is officially undisclosed, it is reported by Sky Sports to be in the region of £39m for the one-time England cap.
Barnes has signed a five-year contract and becomes Eddie Howe’s second summer purchase following the club-record transfer of Sandro Tonali as the club prepares for a return to the Champions League.
Despite Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League last season, Barnes enjoyed a strong campaign, scoring 13 goals in 34 appearances.
In total, Barnes made 187 appearances and scored 45 goals for the Foxes.
He is the second high-profile departure from the King Power Stadium this summer following James Maddison’s sale to Tottenham.
