PSG Want Quick Response From Mbappe

  • Paris Saint-Germain want quick response from France super star on his future in the club.

According to Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain are awaiting a quick response from Kylian Mbappé (24) on his future at the club, informing his mother and agent Fayza Lamari that the France captain has to make a decision to extend his contract or leave the club this summer.

Mbappé’s future at the Parc des Princes remains shrouded in uncertainty, as his current position seems incompatible with that of the club’s leadership. On 12th June, the Frenchman sent a letter to his club formalising his intention not to extend his contract beyond June 2024.

Since signing an extension in 2022, PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly believed that both parties were on the same page: signing a two-year contract that the player would effortlessly extend to facilitate a transfer during the summer of 2024.

However, Mbappé had different plan in mind. By seemingly refusing to sign an extension he aims to become a free agent and choose his next destination as early as January next year. Such an option is reportedly unacceptable to both Doha and PSG. Le Parisien say there is no way they will allow their star player to leave the capital club for free.

Thus the message sent to the player and his entourage is crystal clear: either Mbappé extends his contract or he departs this summer. Whilst the decision is down to the former AS Monaco man, Al Khelaifi has informed Mbappé’s mother and agent Fayza Lamari of the situation.

“I didn’t think a letter would kill someone or offend anyone. We can’t control people’s reactions, but I don’t care,” he confessed before France played Gibraltar. “Staying at PSG is my only option for now.”

When asked to explain the underlying issues, the captain of the French national team simply uttered, “There are many things in life that we don’t understand. The general public is not aware of the ins and outs of the situation. I know why I say what I say and do what I do.”
