Real Madrid Management Convinced That Carlo Ancelotti Should Continue Next Season

Over the past few months, there has been a lot of speculations about the future of Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. The Italian tactician saw his team slip up in the defence of their La Liga title, leading to pressure on him and rumours about his continuity.

The interest from the Brazil national team only added more fuel to the situation, as reports suggested that Ancelotti could be shown the exit doors if he were to fail to lead the team to a major title before the end of the season.

The 63-year-old, for his part, has always maintained that he intends to see out his contract with Real Madrid, which expires in 2024.

And now, Cadena SER (h/t Madrid Xtra) is reporting that the Real Madrid management is also now convinced that Ancelotti should remain in charge of the team for the next season.

Over the past few months, Los Blancos have been linked with several names as possible managerial candidates. Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino appeared to be the most-liked options, but the former joined Bayern Munich and the latter is close to taking over at Chelsea.

Other names such as Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso, Zinedine Zidane, and Raul Gonzalez have all been mentioned as possible candidates.

But it seems like Real Madrid believe that they have been unable to find a suitable replacement for their current manager and are ready to stick with him for the next season, especially at a time when they are planning a major transfer such as Jude Bellingham.

Speaking after the Copa del Rey final, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez gave Ancelotti his vote of confidence, saying: “I don’t even want to hear about that. We have one more year on his contract. We are very happy with Ancelotti.”

And, as things stand, it looks certain that the Italian could remain in charge of Real Madrid beyond the current season.
