Report: Barcelona Could Offer €20 Million To Sign Veteran Midfielder

Despite Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr trying to sign him, reports in Italy, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, suggest that Barcelona still remain very much interested in the services of Inter Milan and Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

The 30-year-old veteran midfielder has been linked with a move to Barcelona since the January transfer window, when there were talks of a potential swap deal involving Franck Kessie but nothing materialised.

With Sergio Busquets set to seal a departure from the club imminently, the Blaugrana have been forced into the market for a new pivot midfielder.

With moves for main targets like Martin Zubimendi and Joshua Kimmich practically impossible, Brozovic’s name is back on the agenda at Can Barça.

However, recent reports had suggested that the Croatian international might be on his way to Saudi Arabia amidst strong interest from Al-Nassr.

But, that might not be the case as Brozovic still remains in Barcelona’s orbit. The report states that the Blaugrana manager, Xavi Hernandez, likes the veteran star very much because of his experience and versatility.

Furthermore, it is stated that the La Liga champions could be willing to offer as much as €20 million to sign Brozovic, who has a contract with Inter Milan until 2026.

Such a sum would make him a much more affordable option to the Catalans than someone like Zubimendi, who has a release clause worth €60 million.

At the same time, the possibility of a potential swap involving Kessie also remains on the table as Inter Milan continue to hold an interest in the Ivory Coast international.

There is nothing concrete about a move at this point, but Brozovic remains an option on the table at Barcelona as they continue their search for a replacement for Busquets.
