Report: Barcelona Remain Confident Of Lionel Messi’s Return To The Club

Lionel Messi was supposed to be Barcelona’s main target in the coming summer. With the attacker set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, the path was clear for Barça to swoop in and lure the player back to Camp Nou.

However, not everything has gone smoothly for the Catalans lately. Recent reports suggest Messi is closer to Saudi Arabia than Camp Nou, which came against the backdrop of the attacker’s recent visit to the country.

This has led to fears that Barça may end up missing out on the Argentine, which in turn, could be a massive blow.

However, according to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have not been deterred by recent rumours and remain hopeful of convincing the attacker to make his return to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Barcelona believe they have done their homework. They are now just waiting for La Liga to hand them the final confirmation regarding the Financial Feasibility Plan that was sent last month, detailing how the club plan to reduce wages and generate new income.

Messi’s environment is aware of the matter as well. But they are yet to make a final decision regarding his future. His father, though, has recently denied reports linking him to Saudi Arabia, which could be a major relief for Barcelona.

The Catalans, though, have their work cut out if they are to sign Messi. Despite sending the feasibility plan, the club must proceed with the plans, which would involve the sale of some of the star players in the team, possibly including Raphinha.

It would also be imperative for the club to secure new sponsorship deals and reduce the wages of some of the first-team players, as they look to create enough space to incorporate Messi into the team.
