Report: Real Madrid Impressed By The Improved Performance Of Impending Summer Arrival

Fran Garcia was a subject of discussion for Real Madrid during the January transfer window, following the youngster’s impressive performances in La Liga. The club are understood to have secured the signing of the left-back in the summer, in a deal worth €5 million.

Formerly of the Real Madrid academy, Garcia had made his breakthrough at Rayo Vallecano since joining the club in 2020. He had played a key role in helping the club gain promotion to the top flight, during his maiden season at Rayo.

Since then, the left-back has been producing excellent performances, even in the top flight. He has been involved in four goals this season while featuring in every single game for Rayo Vallecano.

According to Cadena SER (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid have been left impressed with the way Garcia has stepped up his game for Rayo Vallecano ever since the Spanish giants concluded his return to Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

As the former club of the young full-back, Real Madrid had the option of triggering his return for just €5 million. The clause was activated by Real Madrid at the end of the January transfer window, meaning the youngster is set to return to the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming and become a part of the senior side next season.

Since his return was confirmed, Garcia has taken his game a step further and has continued to play a pivotal role for Rayo in the wider defensive position. His improving form could be a good sign for Real Madrid, who have been lacking depth in the position.

The club have indeed struggled with David Alaba’s injuries this season while Ferland Mendy faces an uncertain future at the club. The Frenchman has not been able to maintain his consistency and has struggled with injuries. Real Madrid, therefore, are open to his sale in the coming summer.

Fran Garcia could prove to be a top replacement for Mendy, who not only has experience in La Liga but is also attuned to Real Madrid’s style of play.
