Report: Real Madrid To Offer Jude Bellingham A Five-Year Deal Worth €20 Million Per Season

It is well-established at this point that Real Madrid are interested in signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer as a top priority. The 19-year-old is the primary target for Los Blancos as they look to lay down succession plans for Luka Modric.

Real Madrid are set to face competition from Manchester City in their battle to sign Bellingham. Even though some reports have suggested that the teenager has chosen the Santiago Bernabeu as his next destination, a decision is yet to be made.

However, according to a report from SportBILD (h/t GOAL), negotiations with Real Madrid are expected to pick up speed in the coming weeks as Bellingham’s father, Mark, who acts as the midfielder’s representative, wants to engineer a big move.

The report further states that Los Blancos’ officials will soon fly out to Germany to convince Bellingham to make the jump to the Bernabeu.

It is further claimed that Real Madrid are planning to offer the England international a five-year contract worth €20 million per season, taking the total value of the deal to €100 million.

Bellingham is keen on winning the UEFA Champions League, which is said to be a major driving factor behind a potential exit from Dortmund this summer.

On top of that, the 19-year-old’s father also has financial motivations behind wanting to engineer an exit.

From October 1, FIFA’s new advisor statutes will come into force, wherein only licensed agents can issue invoices and can only earn a total of 3% of the player’s total contract value from the footballer’s side and the club’s side.

Bellingham’s father, who is not a licensed agent at this point, could be entitled to as much as 10% of the midfielder’s next contract as commission if the transfer were to happen before FIFA’s new statute kicks in.

Dortmund, for their part, are keen on keeping hold of Bellingham for another year. However, they are starting to grow annoyed about the saga and want a decision at the earliest possible so they can continue planning for the next season one way or the other.

It remains to be seen how this story unfolds over the coming weeks as Real Madrid hope to finalise Bellingham’s signing.
