REVEALED: HOW MUCH MONEY MAN UNITED CAN SAVE IN WAGES AFTER DEPARTURE OF 6 PLAYERS

Over the last two days, Man United have announced that Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata will leave the club next month.

Along with the three, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, and Lee Grant are all going to leave once their contracts expire.

That means at least 6 first-team players are guaranteed to leave the clubs by next month.

This not only allows Erik ten Hag to trim down his squad, but also significantly brings down the wage bill.

While these figures might not be 100% accurate – as player contracts information are confidential and bonuses are seperately included – we look at how much United can save in wages after the departure of the six players.

Paul Pogba (£290,000-a-week or £15m-a-year)

Pogba is the highest-earning player among those who are leaving. He used to earn a whopping £290,000-a-week – which can now be saved by the club or put to use on paying another player.

Edinson Cavani (£250,000-a-week or £13m-a-year)

Cavani was also paid a lavish salary at United, despite hardly making an impact in his second season. United can save a sizeable figure by not having to pay his salary once he leaves.

Juan Mata (£160,000-a-week or £8.3m-a-year)

Mata received a lucrative £8m+ salary from the Red Devils, which can now be saved by the Red Devils.

Nemanja Matic (£120,000-a-week or £6.2m-a-year)

Matic announced his departure before the season is over and United won’t have to pay him £120,000-a-week anymore and can use it to other use.

Jesse Lingard (£75,000-a-week or £3.9m-a-year)

Lingard was among the lower-paid players at United, but the Red Devils can still save nearly £4m in wages after his departure.

Lee Grant (£30,000-a-week or £1.5m-a-year)

Despite making just a handful of appearances in the last 4 years, Grant was still paid a lavish £30,000-a-week by United. Fortunately, that can be saved now that he has left.

Total wages saved: £925k-a-week or £47.9m-a-year
