Malik Benjamin Shake Milton, nicknamed “Sniper Shake,” is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.

The 26 years old athlete plays in the guard and forward position. He is known for his versatility playing in several positions and solid rebound.

Malik attended Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma, where he played basketball. He then committed to Southern Methodist University (SMU) after graduating from high school.

Before NBA, he played college basketball for Southern Methodist University from 2015 to 2018, where he managed to post 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 34.7 minutes per game.

He was a member of the US Select Team for the Goodwill Tour in Croatia in 2016. Further, he was named to AAC All-Rookie First Team and All-American Athletic Conference Second Team.

The NBA star was named to All-AAC Second Team for a second season after leading the Mustangs with averages of 18.0 points and 4.4 assists per game.

Shake Milton was chosen by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft and later traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. He signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Delaware Blue Coats on July 26, 2018.

The athlete currently has a four-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he earns an estimated income of $1.5 million per year.

Milton was born on September 26, 1996, and is the son of Myron and Lisa Milton. He was given the nickname “Shake” by his late father, Myron. People called Myron the “Milkman” when he played at Texas A&M.

The Philadelphia Star is native to Savannah, Georgia. His father, Myron, used to coach basketball at AAU and always wanted his son to become a basketball player.

Sadly, Myron was not able to see his son play in the NBA, as he passed away when Malik was about 11 years old, even though Myron’s wish was fulfilled by Malik.

Myron reportedly had an abnormal enlargement of cardiomyopathy. It is a kind of heart disease that causes heart complications to pump blood efficiently.

Shake’s mother, Lisa Milton, used to work in Savannah to take care of the family. Myron Milton and Lisa Milton had four children; Myron Milton Jr, Valanette Amie, Terryn Milton, and Shake Milton.

According to Lisa, Myron had taken Shake to practice with him as soon as Shake could walk and hold a ball. He would have the little three-year-old dribbling in the corner with his dad coaching.

Shake says that his father taught him how to be a man and to work for everything. Although he lost his father as a child, Myron inspired him to just go out there and play like the best player on the floor.

Shake likes to keep his private life out of the public’s eye. There is no evidence of him dating any girl, even from his social media handle.
