Newcastle United had an unbelievable start to 2022, but all of a sudden, things have started to go pear-shaped again.

Indeed, the Magpies have now lost three on the spin, and their last defeat came in truly embarrassing fashion as Tottenham dismantled them 5-1.

Newcastle may be seven points clear of the bottom three, but if this slump continues for much longer, they may once again find themselves right back up against it in the relegation battle.

Wolves come into this one in good form having won three of their last four matches, and if it weren’t for a questionable red card against Leeds, the Midlands club would’ve been coming into this one red-hot.

A win against Bruno Lage’s side would be just what the doctor ordered for this struggling United side, and with that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Newcastle’s starting XI for this one.

We think that Eddie Howe will make two changes from the side that were beaten handily by Spurs.

Javier Manquillo and Joe Willock drop out, while Emil Krafth and Bruno Guimaraes come in.

Other than that, it’s the same team we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in recent weeks, and to be honest, it’s the strongest XI Newcastle can field at the moment.

Allan Saint-Maximin, Chris Wood and Ryan Fraser are once again tasked with leading the attack, while Joelinton’s midfield renaissance continues.
