- West Ham Confirm Signing Of €40M Declan Rice Replacement.
West Ham have confirmed the signing of Edson Álvarez from Ajax.
The midfielder joins in a deal worth a reported £35m (€40m) and has signed a deal until the summer of 2028.
An experienced international with 68 caps for Mexico, Álvarez is set to take Declan Rice’s midfield role.
Heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer, the 25-year-old was the subject of interest from Chelsea 12 months ago but remained at Ajax for a fourth season in the Dutch capital.
The 25-year-old twice won the Eredivisie in his time at Ajax and most recently won the Gold Cup with Mexico this summer.
