Why Mason Mount Would Be Perfect For Liverpool

There haven’t been a lot of positives for Liverpool this season. They have consistently struggled to perform in the Premier League and are now in danger of missing Champions League football for next season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men also suffered a 5-2 thrashing against Real Madrid in the first-leg of the Champions League last 16 tie at Anfield. They now face a mountainous task in the second-leg to progress to the quarter-finals.

A good run of form in the English top-flight could still salvage their season as they can pip Tottenham Hotspur for the fourth Champions League spot.

However, even if they finish in the top-four, the Reds must overhaul their midfield in the summer transfer window.

Fabinho is currently struggling for form, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner will all be free agents at the end of the season.

The Reds will also not activate the buy option attached to Arthur Melo’s loan deal, which means they will have to bring in at least two midfielders in the summer.

We believe that Chelsea star Mason Mount would be perfect for the Merseyside club.

The 24-year-old’s current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2024. But he is yet to agree a new deal with the London outfit.

If the two parties fail to strike an agreement by the summer, the England international could be available in the market.

Mount is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and any team would love to have him in their side.

He is an academy graduate of Chelsea who rose through its ranks to make his first-team breakthrough in August 2019.

The 24-year-old went on to establish himself as one of the key members of the team. So far, he has made over 190 senior appearances at the Blues.

Mount was part of the Chelsea side that won the 2021 Champions League trophy, while he was also named player of the year for two consecutive seasons.

The English footballer can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and left midfielder. He is highly rated for his long shots, key passes and tackling ability.

The 24-year-old is also a very good finisher, scoring 33 goals so far for Chelsea.

Mount has also the distinction of representing his country at two major tournaments.
